Last Weekend....

Didn't get to blog that much since last weekend, mainly because I was too lazy to do so....

Last Saturday, I attended the baptism of my godson Ben. He's really cute and he was crying the whole time. We were laughing so hard because his parents couldn't make him stop crying, when his grandma held him that was the only time he stopped crying.

After the sumptuous lunch at Richmonde Hotel, we all decided to meet again at around 5 pm at Bonifacio High Street. I couldn't help but browse around the shops.

Of course, I bought some stuff for myself and hubby. Hubby and I bought one tempur pillow each. One our friends recommended this pillow, in her words its really "fabulous" because it follows the contour of your head, minimizes snoring and removes neck or back pain. We were actually able to try the pillows and the mattress in the shop. What a pillow.....here's their web site http://philippines.tempur.com/. In my opinion its worth it even if its expensive at P7,150 each.

I also love pottery. I've been to this shop by a famous ceramic artist and I started falling in love with pottery. Here's what I bought from Serendra, 6 coasters and 2 jars. They are also expensive as well but to me they are worth it.

Then I dropped by several shops and I unfortunately got turned off in one of the shops named Mia Bella. They had really nice stuff but very rude sales assistants or ladies. I tried on one style of shoe and unfortunately it didn't fit me but another style did. So I wanted to try another style but this very rude sales lady told me that I don't think it would fit you. Talk about a lazy sales person, she was just too lazy to get me the size that I wanted. I was not in the mood to stoop down to her level, so I just ignored it. I continued browsing in their shop and I found another shoe that I wanted. So I requested if she could get me a new stock. After a few minutes she came back and told me that the display was the last stock. I requested for a discount because the shoe on display was a bit worn out already. Then when they said they couldn't give me one I left and my parting words were "Sorry na lang kayo, wala kayong benta!!!". To all those planning to shop in the store, beware of these rude sales ladies.

Anyway, I moved on to another shop called Peppered Cherry. Oh, I love their stuff and they are reasonably priced. I was able to b
uy just one item because I was really in the mood to buy some shoes. So I ended up with the jumper dress...

Last stop was a newly opened shoe store called Aldo. After waiting for several months for the shop to open, to my dismay their smallest size is still too big for me. I wanted to cry, the sales assistant was nice enough to get me several stocks and I even tried it with a cork, but it was still too big for me :( So I ended up buying a bag....

That was my adventure last weekend...

Yahoo, Finally Got Out of The House!!

Yes, my driver was still absent yesterday but hubby was around. We decided to go out and watch a movie at Promenade Greenhills.

We watched "No Reservations" and I really liked the movie. I cried several times while watching it because I really pity the child when she lost her mother. It was touch seeing her go through adjustments in living with her aunt who she doesn't really know that much. The adjustments on both the aunt and the niece was really tough. Although its a romance movie, the romance part I felt was just on the side. It was still cute nevertheless but I think it was more of the story of the aunt and the niece. Anyway, I still liked the movie.

After a tub of popcorn, a pack of M&M's peanut and water we still decided to have an early dinner at Cibo. This is actually one of our favorite restaurants. We ordered our usual white grape juice, a pizza and beef tenderloin. It was yummmy....

Bought a couple of In Style back issues and the most i
mportant purchase was my anniversary gift for hubby. We are celebrating our 4th year anniversary on Friday. I'm also excited because we'll be spending 3 days in Tagaytay.

Anyway back to my gift, it's a coffee syphon. Its another kind of coffee maker, if you've been to UCC then you'll notice its something similar to that. He was the one who requested this and I really don't know what will happen to our regular coffee maker.

Oh, well....

Chika Time With Friends @ Shangri La

Had another get together with my friends last night.

Oh by the way before sharing what happened last night, may I just day that I attended a very lousy wedding at Tagaytay. The church wedding was late by almost an hour thus the reception started at 1 pm. Then imagine that they finished serving our lunch at 3 pm!!!! We had to travel for like and hour and half for lousy food and late lunch. Aaargghhhh......

Moving on, I had another get together with my friends yesterday. They were craving for a dimsum feast at Gloria Maris Shangri La Mall. Our meeting time was at 6:30 but one of my friends called and told me she'll be there earlier. So I told her I'll meet her there at 5 pm.

Upon arrival at the mall, knowing me,
I passed by a few stores and bought a few stuff. My first stop was Body Shop. I found an old lip stick at home and I super loved it so I decided to buy one. Unfortunately, since it was on old stock they no longer carry the same thing. So the sales lady just helped me approximate the shade and I think it is more or less the same. I bought the caramel shade (28) from Body Shop.

From Body Shop, I then decided to drop by Beauty Bar to buy an eye lash curler. I am not really into curling my lash since its actually very short but I decided that I want to give it try again.

My friend and I met-up at this point and we decided to go around the mall some more. This time I bought a large bottle of Citromint. Oh this is one of the best finds for me. It serves as an aromatheraphy oil that repels mosquitoes and cockroaches, can be used as flea repellant for my dogs and also use this to wipe my walls, tiles, floor etc. to repel all these bugs. I guarantee that it truly works.

After several clothes shops, we weren't able to buy anything because nothing really caught our eye. In one of our rounds, I bought a large choco chip cookie (I'm actually munching this while writing this blog) and then lastly I bought a celebrity magazine because I was really curious with the story of Pops Fernandez.

Finally, we met-up with our other friends and had dimsum galore at Glora Maris. We had hakaw (3 orders), chicken feet (4 orders), shao long pao, bean curd, siomai, and fried dumpling. We also ordered 2 way peking duck. YUMMY!!!!! Of course our meal ended by having coffee and dessert at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf along Emerald Avenue Ortigas.

We had a good laugh and ended our "chika" at around 11:30 pm since they all had work the following day :)

Shopaholic Pinay Strikes Again...

Ha-ha, Yes, I went shopping again!!!!!

After lunch I went to the parlor which was again inside a mall (Robinsons Galleria) to have a hair cut and hair treatment. I was scheduled to meet my friend at 4:30 PM so that was just right on time after my parlor thingy.

So, I had my hair cut and treatment starting at 2 PM. The thing is I finished early at 4PM. Since I know that my friend is not yet ready, I decided to check out some of the stores. Being a shopaholic, I ended up buying another clutch bag, blouse and earrings. This in a span of 30 minutes by just visiting 2 stores. Imagine if I visited more stores...Ha-ha, I think if I were to join a shopping contest I'd win assuming the mechanics were to buy as much items as you can in the shortest period of time.

At 4:30 met-up with my friend and decided to go to the Negros Fair at Rockwell. Its a bazaar showcasing some of the best items/food from Negros Occidental (Visayas Region). It was a bit of a disappointment because there were just a few stalls but of course being who I am, I was still able to buy a few stuff. I bought some dried fish, squid rings, barquillos, dulong (kind of fish in the Philippines) fried in olive oil and some cheese dip. Aside from that, I also bought some baskets and I bought my Mom a crucifix which I intend to give her as my Christmas present.

After our visit at the Negros Fair, we went around the mall again. Unfortunately, there were a lot of people which is so unusual. It was not too conducive to shop so I was not able to buy anything. We decided to just go to Fully Booked and I bought some magazines: Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping and Real Living. Hmm, my visit to a book store will not be complete without buying my romance novels, I only bought 2 since the others didn't really catch my fancy.

Then we had dinner at Cibo and went home early because I have to wake up at 7 AM tomorrow for that wedding out of town (Tagaytay).

Ooopss, I have to stop now because hubby just got back from his fishing trip. Time to spend some time together because we practically didn't see each other....

Great Buys at Gourdo's

I was once again in Greenhills Promenade to watch a movie with my husband. Since we were there early I decided to drop by a magazine stand, Fully Booked and Gourdo's (photo coutesy of www.gourdos.com/Webpage.html).

As usual, I ended buying from all 3 stores :)
What did I buy? Here's a look....
It looks a lot but actually they're all just bulky.
So onto the items I bought, I'll start of with Gourdo's. I was able to purchase a buy 1 take 1 set of glasses (good for 4 people each set) for the price of P495.00 (PESOS) ONLY!!!! Wasn't that such a great buy??? Imagine, the cost of one is just P61.88 (PESOS). It was made of thick glass so its not the type that's easily breakable. Well, I bought this even if I still have glasses because one of the things I learned was that YOU CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH GLASSES at home because it easily breaks. Following the same principle, I also bought 6 pieces of big tumbler glasses made of plastic at P50.00 each. I liked it because its big and handy for us so that we don't have to keep on pouring our drinks often. We do drink a lot of water that's why we always have a pitcher of water in our room. Another thing that I bought was a lemon zester but I'm actually going to use it as coconut grater because we also love coconut juice.

Lastly, I bought a medium and large copper tubs. I'm planning to
use the medium one as a magazine rack since we have a lot here at home. The big one will functions as storage bin and as an ice chest during parties (as suggested by the salesman). I thought it was a great idea because its easier to use that than the regular ice chest.

Then at the magazine rack stand I bought 2 back issues of In Stlye Magazine and at Fully Booked a book by Sophie Kinsela (one of my favorite authors) entitled Can you Keep a Secret?.

So there, Shopaholic Pinay invaded Greenhills Promenade....Till next time (ha-ha-ha :)
